Taken exactly two hours after you start a normal meal. It shows how well your body clears sugar from the blood after food — often the first thing to go wrong in diabetes, before the fasting number rises.

- The two hours start at the first bite
- The clock runs from your first mouthful, not from when you put down the plate. Counting from the end of a slow meal can push the draw 20 to 30 minutes late, and the sugar is still coming down at that point. Your meal time is written down and you are called at two hours.
- Eat what you normally eat
- Skipping rice or taking a lighter meal than usual to get a better number makes the result useless. A heavier meal than usual is no help either. The test is there to show what your ordinary working-day meal does to your sugar.
- Sitting quietly for those two hours matters
- A brisk walk or two flights of stairs after the meal pulls the two-hour value down, and the report cannot tell your doctor that is what happened. If you are waiting here, sit. If you are going home and coming back, keep the walking to what you usually do.
- The fasting and post prandial belong together
- A normal fasting value with a high two-hour value is a common early pattern, and running only one of the two can miss it. Most people give the fasting sample first, eat their usual meal, and come back for the second one.
- ₹50 for the test and the report
- A post prandial sugar is ₹50. There is no separate charge for the report or for the WhatsApp copy once it is signed. The fasting sample is priced the same, and both are listed on the public price list along with the other 284 items.
