About this test
What this test checksఈ పరీక్ష దేని కోసం
B12 comes mostly from milk, eggs, meat and fish, so vegetarians run low more often. Your nerves and your red blood cells both need it.
Doctors order it for tingling in the hands and feet, tiredness, memory trouble, or when a CBC shows unusually large red cells.

Out-of-range values are marked in amber and labelled in words — never colour alone. Your doctor interprets the result; this page does not.
Getting it done
How it worksపరీక్ష ఎలా జరుగుతుంది

2. Your sample is taken — 3 ml blood, gold serum tube.
3. Your report comes to your WhatsApp once the pathologist signs it, next day.

Why get it done hereఇక్కడ ఎందుకు చేయించుకోవాలి
- Draw the sample before the first injection
- Once a B12 injection or a high-dose tablet is started, the blood level jumps and the test can no longer tell you what your stores were. If treatment has been advised, get the sample taken first. It is a walk-in draw, no fasting, and the report is the next day.
- Large red cells on a CBC come first
- A shortage usually shows on a routine blood count before anything else, as the red cells get larger and the MCV rises past the normal range. If an earlier count showed large red cells and you were told to keep an eye on it, this is the test that explains them.
- A vegetarian diet is the common reason here
- B12 comes from animal foods. A household that is vegetarian, or one where eggs are avoided and dairy is small, runs low over years without any one event to point at. Long-term metformin and daily acidity tablets also cut down how much is absorbed.
- If the numbness carries on, the test is here
- Tingling or numbness in the feet and hands is what sends most people for a B12 level in the first place. If the level is low and the numbness does not settle, nerve conduction studies are done here, so that is not a fresh trip somewhere else.
- ₹1000, and the report is not extra
- The B12 assay is ₹1000. There is no separate charge for the printed report or for the WhatsApp copy once it is signed. The figure sits in the public price list along with the rest of what we charge, so nothing is quoted only at the counter.
