What this test checksఈ పరీక్ష దేని కోసం
The serum is tested against different Salmonella antigens and the answer is given as a titre, meaning how far the serum can be diluted and still show a reaction. Both typhoid and paratyphoid organisms are covered. Earlier infection and earlier vaccination can also raise the titre, so the doctor reads it against the stage of the present illness.
Doctors order it for fever that has continued for several days, particularly in areas where typhoid is common.
